Bohemian violinist and composer Franz Neubauer left his native country to pursue a musical career performing and teaching. On his travels he stopped at various monasteries in Bavaria ''singing for his supper'' by playing for food and lodging. Neubauer eventually found career success with a concert masters position at the court in Buckeburg but this was short-lived. within a year he was dead from alcohol poisoning.
