"Elegiac Poem" for String Orchestra was written in 2007 by the well-known Russian composer Gennady Chernov. The inspiration for its creation was a bright, unforgettable impression from listening to a concert of the famous, ingenious "Adagio for strings". opus 11. by the classic American composer Samuel Barber. The sound of this orchestra piece, with its amazing expressiveness and flexibility of extraordinary depth and expression, affected the soul of the listener to the effect that the composer wanted to recreate this impression in "Elegiac Poem" for string instruments.
