In Robert Eitner's 11-volume Quellen-Lexikon der Musiker und Musikgelehrten, a Johann Friedrich Dressler is listed, stating that he was born in Halle. Germany. and lived in Magdeburg. It is probable that this edition is from approximately 1800.
