Five Duets composed by Jack Normain Kimmell. For bassoon and piano. Grade 2. Published by Imagine Music. IG.IMS137B. Composer's Notes. I have a special friend Jill. a retired French teacher. who bought herself a bassoon with the intent to learn to play. I decided to write a short piece for her. It was so much fun that I wrote another, which I enjoyed, and another, and another until I had written all five. The fifth piece was especially written to make use of the tenor clef. I've always enjoyed the bassoon ever since, as a child, I heard the famous solo in Stravinsky's "Le Sacre du printemps. Five Duets for Bassoon an Piano is intended to played together, as if each were movements.
