Elegy composed by Arcangel Castillo-Olivari. For String orchestra. Conductor Score. 44 pages. Duration 7'. Published by Periferia Music. PF.M-69216-050-2. "Elegy for Strings" is a set of variations, or developments of the musical material exposed in the first 34 measures of the piece. Two climaxes are relevant in this piece. as the piece becomes more intense and is ascending in dynamics the first solo violin appears after the first climax. The work ends with a kind of funeral march unfolding tree different textures. Violin Solo, First Violins playing long notes in the background "sul tasto" and with mutes. The rest of the strings perform an "obstinato" which starts to break the 3. 4 meter pattern already present in the entire piece and suddenly replaced by a binary meter. Finally and progressively, the strings fade from the lower registers to the higher sounds letting free the soloist disappear in the silence.

"Elegie pro smyčce" je soubor variant, nebo vývoj hudebního materiálu vystaveného v prvních 34 opatření kusu. Dva vrcholy jsou relevantní v tomto kusu. jako kus se stává intenzivnější a stoupá v dynamice se objeví první sólové housle po prvním vyvrcholení. Práce končí s jakousi smuteční pochod rozvíjející stromů různé textury. Sólové housle, první housle hrají dlouhé poznámky v pozadí "sul Tasto" a potlačuje. Zbytek řetězce provádět "obstinato", který začíná rozbít 3. 4 meter vzor již přítomen v celé kusu a najednou nahrazen binární metr. Konečně a postupně se řetězce mizí z nižších registrů k vyšším zvuky nájmu zdarma sólistu zmizí v tichu.
