Judith Simon. , based on the nineteenth-century ballad by Jewish poet Jozsef Kiss. Judith Simon is the sad and poignant story of a young woman who fell in love with a local man of a higher class. The music reflects the joy and exuberance of young love in the first movement, Anticipations and the heartbreaking decisions in Choices, when life goes a different way than expected. Transitions acknowledges the beginning acceptance of life's choices, while Remembrances brings self-forgiveness and the start of looking back without regret.
