The tenth volume of Correspondence and the documents of Antonin Dvorak concludes this monumental edition, which raises the research basis for study of the composer's life and works. The documents, collected in this volume, deepen our knowledge of the composer's work in the National Conservatory of Music of America in New York and in the Conservatory in Prague. It closely follows Dvorak's activities in the Czech Academy for Sciences, Literature, and Arts. Concert programmes and theater posters from home and abroad make up a large block of documents. The editors documented in detail Dvorak's farewell concert tour, which the Czech master made through Bohemian and Moravian towns before leaving for America. Of these 36 concerts there was a grandiose event during which a great gesture of respect for him personally and good luck abroad was made. The concerts often were followed by Dvorak's records in the commemorative books of choral societies and the albums of private individuals, containing musical passages of the composer's works. Up to the final chapter Varia the editors arranged diverse documents which go beyond the given thematic scope. All documents in this work have been published in the original version. Czech texts are accompanied with German and English summaries, in the case of foreign language originals the editors have arranged Czech translations. Each document has footnotes on the contents of the documents. The transcription of all documents was organized according to the current requirements for transfer of historical texts. The entire edition provides domestic and foreign researchers musicological works of unprecedented value.
