Take Five is a classic jazz piece recorded by The Dave Brubeck Quartet and released on its 1959 album Time Out. Composed by Paul Desmond, the group's saxophonist, it became famous for its distinctive, catchy saxophone melody and use of quintuple time, from which the piece gets its name. This arrangement is based on the vibrant Tito Puente salsa version from Party with Puente. Scored for ten-piece Salsa Band. Alto, Tenor, Trumpet, Trombone, Plus four rhythm and percussion. Key of E flat minor, as recorded, but set in 4. 4 instead of the original 5. 4 setting. Around grade five standard.
