As one of the fundamentals in the study of harmony, particularly for Baroque music, Henri Challan. 1910-1977. provides an imperative aid to the understanding of Figured Bass. Challan , a French composer and music educator was appointed Professor of Harmony at the Paris Conservatoire in 1936. He compiled 380 Figured Bass Exercises during 1960, after a considerable amount of time working in the field. With Challan 's experiences in mind, 380 Figured Bass Exercises is very well-informed.
