Here's a chart for young bands in the fiery tradition of the Spanish-flavored music from the Buddy Rich and Stan Kenton libraries. Last Night of the Bengal opens with a sultry Trumpet solo, and then unfolds with solid horn writing, interesting, easy counterpoint and biting harmony. The solo section uses only two dorian scales (Cmi7 and Dmi7), and written sample solos for alto, tenor or baritone sax are included.
