Texty: Lazarus (William). Walking Sonnet.

did you get what you wanted,
the way that you wanted,
before the rain hit the streets?
oh san francisco, all the places that i go
seem to be laughing now.
you picked up and left with an unfinished mess and you took my eyes with you.
well did you forget that,
the ground wasn't wet, the day that i kissed you?
well i still believe, that the moments we take are the moments we steal.
and the day it will come soon, when i will be you and you will be me.
i slip past the corner, where i met you last summer,
and talked to some folks i know.
i asked them the weather, i asked them the colors, that seeps out of my disguise
but they wont be bothered with my useless endeavor and so i will hit the streets.
i walk past the drunk ones, the dressed up and lonely, then enter the barren lands.
where my eyes can be quiet,
my thoughts can be silence
and steps are the only songs.
well i still believe, that the moments we take
are the moments we steal.
and the day it will come soon, when i will be you and you will be me.
